Australian Native Bee

Learn more about the incredible Australian native stingless bees that produce our extremely potent, medicinal-grade propolis.

The Australian Native BEE

The Australian native stingless bee (Tetragonula carbonaria), also known as the Sugarbag Bee, is a species of bee that is native to north-eastern Australia known for their unique behavior and role in pollination.

These small, social bees are vital to ecosystems and agriculture, aiding in the pollination of various plants and crops. One of their remarkable characteristics is their production of propolis, a substance used to seal and protect their hives.

Unlike honeybees, which collect resin from trees, sugarbag bees gather resin from a variety of sources, including flowers, sap, and plant exudates. They mix this resin with wax, pollen, and saliva to create propolis, which they use to construct and fortify their nests.

Our propolis

Our propolis is 100% naturally produced by Australian Native stingless bees, sourced from the hinterlands of Queensland and a stretch of land designated for biodiversity in New South Wales, Australia.

Propolis, a natural substance produced by bees, offers a plethora of health benefits backed by scientific research. Rich in antioxidants, propolis possesses strong antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, which may aid in fighting off infections and reducing inflammation in the body. Studies suggest that propolis may also promote wound healing, boost immune function, and even exhibit anticancer effects. Additionally, propolis has been linked to improved oral health, as it can help prevent dental plaque, gum disease, and cavities. With its diverse range of potential health benefits, propolis continues to be a subject of interest for researchers and individuals exploring natural remedies and alternative medicines.
